2/11/2008 Response: I am packing small boxes now -- they are from the liquor store, so they are what they put Bud and whatnot in. I can lift them, so they aren't too heavy. I am going to stick to 15 or less. They are mostly books/knicknacks. There will be a med box or two with some kitchen things. Then I have about 4 large (18 gal) plastic Rubbermaid tubs that have clothes in them (they are light). If you prefer boxes, I can get one or two large boxes or wardrobes. I decided if you don't have room for the recliner/ottoman (it really is small--I can email a photo), I will sell it, as my car will be filled with things I'll need early on. And one passenger....

2/11/2008 Response: I know everything is expensive these days even though I don't have very much...I really don't know, the only time I've used professional movers before, it was for an entire household...I don't want to insult you by being too low....and I'm also afraid of paying too much. Can you give me some idea of what you've charged? I really wish I made this move last year when I probably would of gotten a lot more for my furnishings. There is just so much stuff for sale now what with all the foreclosures. Bye the way--how does they payment work? I have been looking on the UShip site for that info but don't see it.

2/11/2008 Response: : after accepting bid they give you my info..i require 1/3 deposit after bid is accepted..1/3 on pick and the remaining on delivery..i am a very fair person..with gas price how they are and chances they will be higher by then..i can only tell you that if you moved it yourself with a uhaul or budget,,youre looking at 1400 in gas alone....anyway..just throw out a price that you would book for right now and if its fair we can goi ahead and book it..
2/11/2008 Response: Yes, I have been looking at different options....originally I was going to ship my car but that is very expensive and then I was going to hitch a uhaul but my auto tech put a nix on that. I can afford $750 with a $250 deposit now and $250 in April and $250 in July. I can load and unload if that helps. I'm on a quiet street here and it will not even take an hour. The items are going to my mother's house (I am moving back to help her get her house ready for sale, etc) and she lives on a quiet, wide, suburban street.
I have renter's insurance. I will check with my agent, but I thought that it would cover my items in transit?
I looked at your profile and like what I read about you. I got a kick out of the art people!!! I hope we can come to terms. If this goes well, I will be sure to refer you.

2/12/2008 Response: : i couldnt do it for that price unless you can bring the things to me in bakersfield..gas alone in my truck to come pick the things up and bring back here would be around 220 dollars
2/12/2008 Response: Oh, I thought you had another shipment going the same route and I was just filling your truck. i guess I am going to have to try Greyhound or storage until I have more money or something. I can't afford any more up front because i haven't sold many of my things yet and really don't know what April will look like. I may be able to pay more on delivery in July but i still max out at $900.
I'm surprised because the estimator on UShip for my move came in at $830.
