Questions for this shipment:

Question: I will be in Ontario in a week to load for Florida where I have a 3 bed load for California. I could take your things into storage in Buffalo where it will be eassier to find a mover or take it along to Florida and combine it with the load there and unload you first. I would prefer to do it at a later time. Do you have your customs paperwork ready? Are a you a US citizen or have a visa? thanks. (10/18/2009)
Response: I am a Canadian with a Green Card. I would prefer to deal with one shipper, so hiring one shipper to move the stuff to Buffalo, and then another to move it onwards, is not of interest. I guess that I would go with your second option. On the other hand, I am willing to rent a truck and take the stuff across to Buffalo, and do a truck-to-truck transfer, if this makes things easier for the shipper. I would clear the goods myself. If you can believe it, I shipped most of the stuff listed, less the dining table (which is thin), the mattress and boxspring, and a few boxes, on an ABF LTL. It fit in 6 feet of length on an ABF trailer. Most of my boxes are plastic containers, so I can stack stuff nice and high. (10/18/2009)
Response: The truck I use is 7.3x7.3x26. The settee on the picture is not the listed sofa/bed? I don’t think the ping ball machines can be stacked or heavy items placed on top even if you take the legs off. What is the size of the 30 large boxes? I see you using 1/2 to 2/3 of the 26ft truck. I do not need you to clear customs. I have proposed moving your things into storage in Buffalo because I will be passing by anyway. Publick storage have very goods deals for the first month. My bid for what you have will be $3400. (10/19/2009)
Response: The settee is the 3 seater. Uship gives me no other options for a 3 seater. (i.e. I am shipping no other sofa/settee). The legs and the back screens come off the pinball machines; the main box is laid on its back for shipping; boxes can be stacked on top of the upright ends; I shipped them this way across the U.S. before. The large boxes are 23" X 12" X 20"; some are a bit bigger. This load will fit within 10 ft of truck length, and possibly as little as 8 ft. (10/19/2009)
Response: I am an expert at packing tight & I can give you a few pointers on how to pack. If you help with the loading/unloading I will bid $2309 for all the listed items or half a truck. I will have to load my two custoemrs waiting in Windsor and Toronto first. My customer in FL has an enclosed trailer maybe 12x6x6 that wants me to bring if it does not sell. If I used for my load I will not charge him. (10/19/2009)
Response: When would you pick up, and when would you expect to deliver? (10/19/2009)
Response: I would pick up the latest 10/28 and deliver the latest 11/8. My concern it is still to have room for you. (10/19/2009)
Response: How little room do you expect to have? As well, I have a car. I could drive the car myself. Would you be able to tow a car, and if so, how much would that be? (10/19/2009)
Response: I should have room to bring your things out of ON and I can always pick up a smaller truck in Buffalo and bring just your stuff to a storage. You should list the car in uship so that people who specialize in cars have a chance to give you a lower bid and also because the program tells us the information we need to bid or know if it will fit a Penske trailer like weight, wheel base distance, lenght, model and year ect. If I was to bring the car I will want to go from Toronto to California directly and if I am doing the household move I can then do your car for $800 using a 4 wheel trailer. The car has to go included on form 3299 & have insurance for driving in the US. YOu also should check with customs about the car being allowed into the US if it is made other than in the US. (10/19/2009)
Response: The car originally came from the US (over a year ago) so it should not have a problem crossing back in. Insurrance is not an issue. I am a little confused by the options that you have presented. Let me rephrase them to make sure I understand you correctly. Which are the real options? Option 1) $2309 is to pick up the items in Port Colborne, and take the household items to FL and on to CA, with my help loading and unloading at both ends. Option 2) $2309 is to pick the items up in Port Colborne, transfer them to storage in Buffalo, then take them out of storage in Buffalo, and take them to CA, with loading and unloading at both ends; I wouldn't be at the Buffalo storage transfer. Option 3) $? + $800 take household items and car from Port Colborne to CA, with my help loading and unloading at both ends. Option 4) ?. Please clarify on which are the real options. (10/19/2009)
Response: Yes, if the items fit on 10 ft of my truck then I can take them off ON at the same time I do my two jobs there saving me all the driving around. There is a place in Buffalo that you can leave your car for $30/$50 or it can be left inside the storage by your later since I will not be bringing the trailer at this time. Check with Penske if your car fits their trailers. It can’t be over 4150 lbs. I would want your help unloading into the storage but I will handle it later for the quoted price. Or if I see that it will only take closer to 1/3 I will take it to me FL since I have been told that their things will take ¾. I can always rent a U haul trailer if they sold theirs. If I am taking your car then I either do all at once from Ontario or from the storage unit in mid Nov & bring then directly to CA. I can not do the car & goods at this time in case there is no space but I will have space to take it into storage. (10/19/2009)
Response: 1) I am not sure what "off ON" means. 2) The car is a Ford Contour FWD, which Penske states can be transported on either of their 2-wheel dolley, or 4-wheel trailer. 3) I have updated the photos in the listing to show what a pinball machine looks disassembled and what the armoire looks disassembled. 4)So, if I understand correctly, if my stuff is closer to 8.6', you will take it with you to Florida, and there will be no need to store stuff in Buffalo. If it is larger, it will need to be stored in Buffalo and taken later. (10/19/2009)
Response: off ON means out of Ontario at the same time I move some household goods from Windsor and Toronto going to Florida. Number 9-10 pictures are not visible yet but I can visualize the machines since I have move several of them with and without legs. If I don't take your car I can take it to Florida and then pass thru California in the way to WA. If you wnat a bid let me know. I need to do some power washing at a rental now that I have borrowed the machine from my son and if you do not respond right away I can do it this evening. (10/19/2009)
Response: Yes, please bid. I have a Penske truck rental that I would like to cancel. (I am not keen to be driving across the country towing a car and driving a big truck, hence I posted on UShip). (10/19/2009)
Question: Sorry. I just looked closer at your load and you really have a full 26ft truck packed tight. I could place your things into storage in Canada or US and then pick it up later but I can not do the move with my other jobs. (10/18/2009)
Response: I believe that the stuff can fit in 10 ft of a truck, since I shipped most of the stuff within 6 ft on an ABF LTL previously. (10/18/2009)
Response: ATTENTION; If after packing tight it is shown that you will use over 1/2 to 2/3 of the truck be prepare to pay $2,854.50 $2,309 + $3,400 = $ 5,709/2= $2,854.50 amount you will have to pay instead of the $3400 quoted earlier because of the loading/unloading help. (10/19/2009)
Response: OK. (10/19/2009)
