Idols, Torches, Wooden Blocks Among Items to be Transported for Free by uShip
12.17.2009 – Survivor Samoa, The Treasure Islands of the South Pacific
concludes on CBS Dec. 20, meaning fans and followers can go to eBay
(http://www.ebay.com/survivor) and bid on memorabilia and props from
the reality TV show. The charity auction runs Dec. 20-30.
With many items requiring special handling due to their odd size and
shape, uShip -- the global online shipping marketplace -- is offering
its services to get various immunity idols, torches, large wooden
blocks and more shipped at no charge to winning bidders.
In addition to items from the set of Survivor Samoa, uShip is
sponsoring additional charity auction item deliveries, including
tickets to Survivor Season 20 Live Finale & Reunion Show in New
York, as well as tickets to Dancing with the Stars, American Idol,
Project Runway, and Live with Regis & Kelly.
Proceeds from the charity auction benefit Survivor host Jeff Probst’s
Foundation, The Serpentine Project, which empowers youth transitioning
out of foster care to reach for their dreams by opening the door to
possibilities. Through personalized mentorship, life skills training,
job shadowing and financial support, The Serpentine Project strives to
create capable and confident young adults who see themselves as their
most valuable asset.
"As a small organization with huge goals, every dollar saved and earned
allows us to invest in this overlooked population," said Elizabeth
Lott, Executive Director of The Serpentine Project. "By uShip offering
free shipping for this Survivor Samoa charity auction, we feel this
will help encourage fans and buyers alike to go that extra mile when
placing their bids and making their donations."
The auction is being managed on eBay by Auction Cause, a premier cause
marketing agency specializing in high profile events for brands,
celebrities, and nonprofits.
