My primary interest, after my family of course, is sailing and I have used this fine service to make a purchase of a larger sailboat possible. uBid made it possible for me to contract a shipper that would make my buying a boat 900 miles away, much easier and less expensive than I would have expected. I did not choose the lowest bidder that responded to my request for bids. Having been a Municipal manager, bid acceptance has always been based on several procedures and practices. The first consideration is company reputation, reviews and past experiences. Next, the highest and the lowest bid are usually discarded, reducing the number of potentials. In my case, reputation and reviews were my primary concern. And, even though my choice was in fact the highest bid, I was willing to pay the relatively small addition to obtain the most reliable and safest shipper. I hope this helps
