I am a single mom who has 3 boys, ages 14, 12, and 8, and one girl who is 6. Every year, we take a trip to Lake Chautauqua, NY to visit my parents. After my dad passed away last year, my mom sold off all his boats. Last summer was horrific without my dad to take us out on the lake sailing or fishing. I vowed to never let that experience happen again. I purchased two small used boats on e-bay to take with us this summer. I plan to leave them there. These boats did not come with trailers. I have little desire to purchase a trailer and I don't want the two-day drive to be racked with concerns over the possibility that bearings are hot, or the boat(s) might be loose. I am a school teacher, so my funds are somewhat limited.
