About the Company: Smart Trailer USA manufactures trailers for the "smart fortwo" micro-car from Mercedes Benz. Our target market is RV owners who have purchased a Smart car to haul behind their motorhome. We deliver throughout the US and Canada. Our trailers are normally only 14 feet long (overall length) and weigh about 600 pounds. Trailers will normally be picked up at our manufacturing location in Gainesville, FL, located off of exit 399 on I-75, with easy access. No loading dock is available at either location and the hauler will be responsible for loading and unloading the trailer. In most cases, delivery will be to a residential address.

What he needs is a baby sitter, not a shipping company. We picked up his trailer on friday afternoon, delivered sunday morning, called before pick up, before delivery, but that wasn't enough... IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE But other than that... customer paid on time. It's just hard to do business with some people... Good Luck to you!

If you want further details contact me. Response from SmartTrailer: Not true-I specified in the listing when a status call was expected NO calls were ever initiated by TheTransporters. OUR customer was called by the driver who said that he had run out of gas several times and had to get moneygrams from his family, not the company. Somehow, this concerned our customer, who called me. Wonder why? As I stated in our comments, the driver did, at his own expense, replace a damaged electrical cable. The delivery was at 10:30 pm in a gated community. 'Nuf said.

Didn't appreciate the customers feedback comments as only 1 comments was accurate. We did have a motorcyle on his car hauler trailer inside our air ride, padded van. His trailer was nicely padded to prevent any transit damage. If he wanted to pay exclusive use for a 53' trailer he should have indicated that in his listing and we would have gladly given him a bid accordingly. Response from SmartTrailer: Hey, I didn't appreciate my emailed instructions being totally ignored! MY customer asked that nothing be transported on the trailer and I expected that to be honored. If you did not want to do that, then it was up to YOU to not take the bid. Three times I mentioned the email to the driver, and three times he said his dad handled all that. So what? They were still instructions from your customer, me. Other than this, the service was superb, as noted.

Response from alessandrabenevides: We picked up the trailer on friday afternoon and delivered sunday morning.Shipper provided wrong dimensions and weight.We contacted both ends before pick up AND before delivery,giving 6, 2 and 1 hour notice BEFORE showing up.But some customers are just impossible to please,this one in particular needed a baby sitter not a shipping company.Receiver was really happy with our service,tipped the driver really good and called me to thank for the fast service.But yes, I didn't answer the call at 11PM!

The shipment arrived late at night and sustained damage, although the driver did come back the next day to fix a crushed cable connection at no cost to my customer. Everything else was fine. Response from TheTransporters: We stayed in constant contact with the shipper and the customer. Our driver called the customer over an hour away from its destination and they said to please bring it tonight (7:30pm). We laid over an extra day to replace the wires that got kinked under the jack stand.

They did not, however, pay attention to an email I sent specifying certain information, even after I asked them to. They placed a motorcycle on top of the trailer even though they had been told not to put anything on it. Payment was to be made upon acceptance of shipment, yet there was pressure to pay before delivery and before our customer inspected the shipment.

We have made more than a dozen attempts to contact him, most of which were ignored. He is quick to take money but is now a week late and has still not showed up to pick up the shipment. He claims to have been 35 miles away for the last 30 hours, but seemingly cannot navigate I-75. He is a complete jerk.
