Extra fee for travel time back to their warehouse was added on to my bill but it was not included in the original bid. It was in the invoice sent after the bid was accepted. I contacted uShip who said it should have been included with the original bid. CrownRoyal would not refund the extra money. I am moving again within 30 days of last move, so I asked CrownRoyal for a credit if I used them again. They would not honor it. The actual guys moving were good, but bad customer service by management.

Response from CrownRoyal: According to the NY DOT the minimum is one hour travel time and three hours work time for all local jobs.All this was explained to the customer before she accepted our bid (we have proof of mail).Because we had a bad experience with this customer, we refused to move her again and it lead to a negative feedback.

The guy that managed the deal was a crook. He grossly under estimated the job to win the bid. We had 15 more boxes than the 65 we listed but the furniture listed was exact. Once everything was on the truck the price went from the 3400 quote to 7800. He said the price is based on space which is based on his estimate. What can you do when settlement date is 2 days away & moving across country. In very tumultuous negotiations he agreed to 5000 only if I gave a 500 tip & good feedback. Beware!

Response from CrownRoyal: The original list of household goods was under estimated by the customer.It was supposed to be a partial move of a four bedroom house but it turned to be a full house moving.It is hard to understand how can you be mad if you saved almost three thousand dollars you would have paid with any other company.To avoid this kind of problem you had to give more accurate listing.

Royal Moving was a nightmare to deal with.
They charged us double the estimate on UShip by counting boxes that we didn't have.
The estimate was calculated by weight but they charged us by cubic foot.
They lost boxes.
The items that were delivered were CRUSHED. All of our boxes and furniture looked like they had been run over by a tanker.
Royal Moving requires original receipts, three professional estimates of value for each item and more in order to process a claim.

Response from CrownRoyal: The customer forgot that the boxes were her own- old, ten times used boxes.They could not have been delivered in a better shape as picked up.The customer did not complain about crushed items until we found it out in this feedback.The claim form is approved by the Dept.of Transportation and it has to be filled out if something is missing.She refused to do it even though we accepted to waive original receipts.

Crown Royal are really lovely movers. They are professional, thorough, and friendly. Every email and phone call was responded to immediately and thoroughly. Even though I packed more than I had estimated, it was no problem. The shipment arrived right on time and the drivers called in advance. Thank you for safely moving all of my things.

Firstly, I have to remind myself of the old saying, “You get what you pay for.” Royal Moving and Storage will quote you a seemingly awesome price for your move. For my cross country move from PA to CA, 7,000 lbs, 1700 sq feet, it was $3500 for the whole thing. Compared to other moving companies, this was rock bottom! I was matched with them on Uship.com and I accepted their bid based on a large handful of positive feedback on Uship.com’s website.
