Group Bidding
Group Bidding is an advanced bidding tool that allows qualified* Service Providers to bid on multiple shipments without the risk of overbooking and incurring cancellations.
Why use group bidding?
How do I qualify?
Group bidding is available to "qualified" Service Providers who have at least 10 feedback and at least 90% positive feedback rating.
- Bid on multiple jobs without risking cancellations - Because any bids in a group that put you over-capacity are automatically deleted, you don’t have to worry about overbooking or requesting cancellations.
- Automated bid management - With group bidding, managing multiple bids is much easier. Don't worry about cancelling active bids once you've reached capacity - group bidding does this for you.
How does group bidding work?
- Create a group for related shipments.
- Set a limit on how many shipments from that group you can service.
- Bid on multiple shipments and assign those bids to your group.
- Once your match limit has been reached, all other bids in that group will be automatically canceled.
You can create as many bidding groups as you want, and you can still cancel open bids prior to having them accepted.
Example: Bid on Multiple Vehicle Shipments
A Service Provider is making a trip from Austin, TX to New Orleans, LA and only has room for two vehicles in their car trailer. They find four vehicle shipments along their route and are willing to service any two.
The Service Provider is qualified* and decides to use group bidding. When they bid on the first vehicle, they create a new "group" called "Austin to New Orleans" by selecting "Create New Bid Group" (A) and set a match limit of two (B).
The Service Provider then bids on the remaining three vehicles and attaches them all to the same group (C). They can now view and manage their bids and groups from My uShip.
Two shippers accept the Service Provider's bids. Because the match limit on "Austin to New Orleans" bids is reached (D), the other two bids are automatically and immediately canceled (E).
