My piano sat in my mom's living room in Missouri for 36 years. I have not live there for 27 years and moved to California 16 years ago. But I always knew someday my piano would come home to me again. Well, this year, my mom decided to move to a retirement community so that time was now. Of course at this point, the piano's value is mostly sentimental so cost effectiveness was important. I knew moving a piano was a bid deal so I contacted "piano movers" and larger shipping companies thinking they were more prepared to do this kind of work but the cost was very prohibitive. Having not heard of uShip, I found another website with the same premise and actually booked a move through the site. My advice, DON'T BOTHER. It WILL turn our badly. Just use UShip. With uShip, I felt very confident in the service with every step of the process. I valued being able to read the reviews on each bidder which included details on shipping specific items such as pianos. And I loved having a choice! They explain the process and prevent you from having unrealistic expectations. The bidding process, open for all to see forces the costs down. They are less expensive than the worse option. Trust me. I tried the worse option. How often have you heard about things being broken during shipment. I did not have one item damaged and this included my piano and the 19 boxes of fragile, sentimental items I had shipped with the piano from my mom's place. Thank you uShip! I will tell everyone about you!
