There are furniture items that my husband inherited from his grandmother years ago (all antiques); and for years his sister has been keeping them because we have not had a way (that was not ridiculously expensive) to get them to our home. My husband is in the military and we have never lived anywhere long enough or close enough to make the moving of the furniture possible.
This October we were visiting my husband's sister and we had decided that on this particular trip we would get a hitch put on our van, rent a trailor and FINALLY take the furniture to our new home in AZ. Well, we priced putting the hitch on our van, the cost of a trailor rental, gas, and an extra night's motel stay (2 rooms because of the size of our family) for the trip due to driving slower with the trailor. It would've cost us well over $600.
We were on this trip because my Daddy had died just a week earlier and we were staying on with my husband's family, until my nephew's wedding the following week. It was already an expensive trip, and we didn't need the added expense - and stress - of moving these things back ourselves.
I decided to look up furniture shippers and somehow found uShip. I could not share with enough people in the next few days how wonderful uShip is (and I still am). I measured the items at my sister-in-law's home and entered all the information for my listing. Within two days we had accepted a bid from B and R Rentals for about $200 less than what we would've had to pay ourselves - and there was no stress for us!!!! When we got to my nephew's wedding, I told my family at the rehearsal dinner about taking care of the shipment. My mom had been worried about the stress on us having to do it ourselves, since we had had so much stress already. She was pleased to know that we were going to be able to enjoy the furniture with such little effort.
uShip was an incredible blessing for us. Our furniture was delivered today and there was NO STRESS. My sister-in-law had called us the day after our furniture was shipped to let us know how well it had been packed. This being the first time we had used uShip, until the providers showed up to pack the items we were still kind of wondering... B and R Rentals did an excellent job. Thank you to whomever started uShip - we are SO GRATEFUL!! If we ever have shipping needs agin, I'll go to uShip; and even more specifically B and R Rentals.
