I purchased a 19.2hh Percheron from an internet site. I had seen that uShip had advertised on some of these horse sale sites. Out of curiosity while I was looking to purchase, I would enter my zip code to get an idea of the overall purchase for horse & transport. When I completed my sales transaction for the Percheron I needed transportation, so I went to the internet again, looking for experienced horsemen transporters. First a company gave me a price of $2,500.00 to which I stated "that was just too high". Second quote I received from another site was $2,950.00 and I said "WHOA" too, too high. I was looking for a reputable shipper with experienced horsemen. I also knew that uShip price quote was somewhere around $1150.00 but, who might pick my horse up and maybe pack him in with a dozen other horses????? AND WOULD THEY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HORSES????? OK, OK, it is true, I completely lacked the knowledge of how this company is set up. An aquaintance suggested that I try uShip, so I went to their site and read over how it all works. WOW! This looks great. I give a target price, then horsemen transporters bid, uShip notifies me of bids & I get to choose. So I put a fair target bid in of $1600.00. That was higher than uShip suggested on the horse sale sites and much lower than the transporters I had called. I was not looking for cheap transportation, I did want fair pricing with experienced transporters. I researched the first company that bid, "M&N Horse Transportation" and I asked them questions that they immediately answered. I accepted their bid and was completely satisfied with their transportation of this one ton, one of the tallest PERCHERON horses in the world @ 19.2hh. My horse traveled safely from the east to the west, over 3,000 miles to his new destination. A very happy horse & owner. I would use uShip again ....It was a fun experience....I really like the way uShip is set up for both customer and transporter. :~) GailAnn
