I was making a move from San Diego to Sacramento to start a new job. With the economy turning sour, and gas prices skyrocketing, I knew the move would be expensive. Little did I know that renting a moving truck from places like UHaul, Budget, or Penske would cost at a minimum $700 or so, not to mention extra fees from gas and insurance, and the added inconvenience of having to pick up and return the truck. Not to mention, companies like U Haul are fraught with horror stories regarding reservations, poor equipment, and hidden fees. With a lot of loose ends to tie up in San Diego, I thought using a mover would be best, but where to start? Fortunately, I came across Uship.com on the internet. I had come across the site as a result of doing searches online to look for a reliable mover. If anything, there are loads of online stories about how horrible some movers are. If you do a search, you get loads of links to shady businesses with license numbers that are old or expired. I even found a company that switched names because their rating by the better business bureau was an F. But luckily, I found a link to Uship.com, and found the site easy to use. At first I was still skeptical of what kind of movers/transporters were affiliated with the site, but I definitely like the fact that feedback was left after each job. Consequently, I took a gander and posted my move, and received responses within the first 24 hours. In fact, I received several bids within forty eight hours. I was able to use the site to ask questions, and got responses almost immediately. I ended up using Mountain Transport, as the company received an enormous amount of positive feedback. And I am glad I did. Not only was the move painless in terms of physical strain, but easy on the wallet. Hiring movers would have easily cost above a thousand dollars, but through uship, I defintiely saved a few hundred dollars. Best of all, my move was done fast and efficiently. Thanks uship!
