I recently started a new hobby, and bought a surplus military M35A3 cargo truck off ebay. It had been released by the government and was in near new condition with only 5000 miles on it. I jumped on the chance to own this truck, not thinking how i would get it from West Virginia to California later...well I won the auction and the next step was to find a shipper. I searched the internet and came across uship, which although is seemingly for professions who often ship things by truck, I had no idea how to even get started. I read the Uship introduction and directions and within an hour, companies were already bidding on my shipment. After about a day or two I figured out what the going rate was going to be and I accepted a bid based on the company's profile and feedback,as well as price. Within a few days, L3, the company I contracted with, went and picked up the truck and it was on its way. I had the drivers cell phone number and called him along the route so I could find out when to expect the truck. It arrived unscathed and the M35 is quite a big truck. The driver was friendly, unloaded it and helped me to understand some of the functions of my new truck. The experience went so well, that I recently placed an add looking for a shipper to pick up a hardtop cab for the same military truck in Pennsylvania. Overall, the experience was painless and I have never shipped anything like this before. I would definitely do it this way again.
