Was trying to ship two oversize kayaks (poke boats, actually) to my sister before Christmas. Several freight dealers required me to crate the boats and wanted $350-$400 for shipping. Mike of Mooseabec Marine responded to my UShip request, did the job for $235, didn't need the crating, and delivered the boats on time. Nice guy, knows his stuff!
