I had bought a 1951 Buick Roadmaster but the engine was bad. I had been looking for a rebuilt engine with no luck for about 6 months. I was getting very frustrated becouse there are not very many of those engines left. I was very happy and relieved to be contacted by a gentleman in Delaware that had an engine for sale. I contacted the gentleman and we came to an agrement on the purchase price for the engine. I got on the computer and punched up mapquest and typed in all of the information needed. I had not thought about how I was going to get my engine back home to California. My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw the milage,it was just under 3,000 miles. this was my first time buying some thing that could not be dropped off at the post office. After I picked up my jaw and the echo of a voice in my head saying 3,000 miles stopped, I got my composure. I got estimates from a few carriers, but I was looking at about $1,500 to $2,000 becouse of the weight of the engine. The engine is a Straight Eight 320 complete and very heavy. I got onto the uship page and listed the engine that uship made very easy to do. I got a bid with in a day of listing and with in three days ,I had accepted a low bid from R&L Carriers for the very fare price of $800. R&L Carriers took care of setting a pick up date in Delaware and saved me a lot of time by takeing care of every thing till engine was delivered one week later. The driver of the delivery truck was very professional and was very helpful. I am very greatful to uship and R&L Carriers for helping me get my 1952 Buick Roadmaster that much closer to cruising the roads, and for making my first time with this type of shippment very easy.
