Question:
10/11/2011
Hi Ross, are you still looking to get your boat moved to Newfoundland? I have a load going to Florida from Ontario and could head to the rock on return. If you have a date I could probably adjust on my end to meet your needs. Cheers. EarleReport a Violation
Response: Hi Earle, I have one other shipper interested but have not accepted the bid yet. My boat will be put onto a trailer and ready in one week from now. What is your earliest pickup and cost including all permits and the ferry to Newfoundland? Thanks Ross10/11/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. I should be able to pick up right around the time it is ready. If possible I would like a little more info before I bid. Do you have the weight and dimensions with the boat on the trailer? If not the weight and dimensions of the trailer itself and I can work it out. I am assuming the weight and dimensions on here are the boat by itself. Also do you know the type of hitch on the trailer? I am checking on permit costs. The exact measurements are more for Marine Atlantic. Over 8.5 ft is double the cost based on the lenght which goes up in 10 ft increments. Do you have a broker to handle customs? Thanks. Earle.10/11/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Earl, The boat will be on a trailer. I will have a new custom trailer built for next week, (tri axle aluminum trailer with hydraulic surge brakes). Not sure what size the ball hitch will be but I can check. The weight of the boat alone is 11800 lbs, the weidth of the boat is 11 feet 2 inches and the height can be adjusted depending on what height restrictions you will have....I can have the radar arch removed if necessary. At present I'm estimating 13 ft 5 in on he trailer. The boat on the trailer will probably be 38ft overall, less than 40 feet anyways. I don't have a broker arranged for customs. From what I had beeen reading on the internet, I should be able to send the paperwork to customs before you arrive at the border? Your assistane in this area is appreciated as I guess you do this often. Let me know if there is anything else. Probably the earlist date for pick up would be Oct. 20th. Thanks Ross10/11/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. Don't worry about the size of the ball hitch. I was only concerned with the type..ball, 5th wheel etc. You are right about faxing the p/w to US customs however arrangements will also have to be made to pay taxes, duties etc to Can customs. Thats not a big deal and you can sort it out once you decide who you are going with. As long as you stay under 13' 6" the ht is fine however if there is any doubt it may be worthwhile to have the radar arch lowered. Width wise permits are required (> 8'6")but as long as you stay below 11' 6" nothing further will be needed. The bids you have are fairly competitive. I could do $5800 but that is cutting it fine. I am in NL quite a bit delivering RV's and I have lots of family there (originally from T. Bay)so I hang around for a couple of days. I will wait to here from you before I bid. Cheers. Earle.10/12/2011Report a Violation
Response: Earle, Your price is good but what date will you be able to pick up the boat. I'm having some engine work done now which I'm trying to hurry them up with. Ross10/13/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. I could pick up late on the 20th or early morning on the 21st Oct if it is ready by then. Earle10/13/2011Report a Violation
Response: Earle, I am checking on the readiness date but I think it might be ready 24th or 25th now...is this too long for you to wait? Ross10/13/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. That should be fine. I have a couple of short hauls I can do in the meantime. The main thing is that it is ready once I get there so i'm not hanging around Florida waiting.10/14/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Earle, The boat will be ready on late 25th so pick up should be late 25th or early 26th would be best. If this date is suitable for you, please submit the bid and make a note that all permits, insurance and the ferry are included in the bid and then I can accept. Thanks Ross10/14/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. That date is fine however I had the rear diff go in my truck yesterday and they are telling me 10 days for the part to come in and a day to install. That would make it the 26 before I could leave Ontario and that is if everything goes according to plan with the parts and repair. I am willing to bid but you may want to go with someone else if your pick up and delivery dates are critical. I will wait to hear from you before I bid. My apologies. Earle10/15/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi earle, Thanks for the update. I will check to see when the other group can pickup and get back to you. Ross10/15/2011Report a Violation
Question:
10/12/2011
Hi Ross if you could please let me know something on this right away that would be great. I know a broker that you can get to bring the boat across. The cost of the ferry is double when you have and wide load. Also in New York you will need a pilot car because the width is over a 11ft. Thanks Susie at Dream Time Transportation Report a Violation
Response: Hi Susie, Does the quote of 6000 still include the ferry and the pilot car? Ross10/12/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. Yes it includes everything. Please let me know right away. Thanks Susie at Dream Time Transportation 10/12/2011Report a Violation
Question:
10/15/2011
Hi Ross, I hate to keep bugging you. Bit could you please let me know something about this shipment. Thanks, Susie at Dream Time Transportation Report a Violation
Response: Hi Susie, No problem, I should have gotten back to you earlier but only yesterday I got the date that the boat will be on the trailer and ready to ship. It will be ready for pickup on Oct. 26th. Can you tell me how that fits into your schedule as I would like to get her picked up close to that date as I will be paying daily for storage. Once you give me your pickup date I will make a decision and let you know today. Thanks Ross10/15/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Ross. Thank you for getting back to me rigth now it looks line around the 31st and the 1st. Susie at Dream Time Transportation. 10/15/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi Susie, Pick up on 31st of Oct is ok with me. Can you re bid as the others have expired. Can you include in the details of the bid that the cost of the ferry is included as well as the permits and insurance. Then I can accept and arrange payment with you. There may be a change in the delivery address but it will be less distance for you to travel but price can stay the same...I may have storage in Salmon Cove near Carbonear.
