Expires 5/3 1:00 AM
Frank,
Sorry, I have been out most of the day. When would you need to pick up to have the boat to Sweetgrass for pick up in the late morning or early afternoon of May 14th?
Thank-you in advance,
Jason
Hey Jason, well your time frame is the 8th or 9th so no later than the 9th,this would give me enough time to get there by then,if I could pick up your new vessel by the 7th or 8th this would be better,as far as to drop it off to you on the 14th,regards,frank
Frank,
Can I ask what kind of speed you typically tow at.
Thank-you,
Jason
Yes you can my cruise is set on 66 or 67 even when Im empty, the only time that I may have to speed up is if I have to pass a large car[18 wheeler]well I go around these guys as still about 90% of tires on their trailers are recaps and Jason have you ever seen one of these blow out,MAN you dont want to be beside them,so if I have to pass them I pass them, sure hope this info will help ease your mind, and I do a very clean DMV record.Thank you[windinhair]frank
Frank,
When does your bid expire?
Thank-you,
Jason
Hey Jason at 1:00 AM,if you would like more time just let me know.Thank you[windinhair]frank
Frank,
As per my message earlier this evening, the dealer may not be ready for pick-up until Monday May 9th at the latest but they are shooting for Saturday May 7th. I will have confirmation tomorrow when they hear on the parts they are waiting for. It looks like your bid will expire at 12am May 3 (in a few hours). Are you in a position to take this work if I accept your bid. Please advise or extend your bid for another 24 or 48 hours or let me know your status. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks again,
Jason
Yes just go a head and accept my bid and we can talk via phone, the 7th or the 9th will work.Thank you[windinhair]frank

Windinhair,
Thanks for the bid. Can you provide Haul (flat deck) services or only tow away?
Thanks in advance,
Jason
Good morning Jason,I only tow crafts on their own road worthy trailers, please click on my user name to read my feed back,I have an RV style mud flap on the rear of my truck that covers the whole rear, sure hope this info will help.Thank you[windinhair]frank
Frank,
Thank you for the response. The boat and trailer I have purcashed are brand new and I am concerned with using a tow-away service. I have not had to use this kind of delivery in th past and my concern is the potential for rock chips on the hull as well as chips/road rash on the trailer. The boat will be wrapped but I still have a concern with this. Also, not sure how the hubs would take to this kind on distance (2000mi) in one go. Any comments.
Thank-you in advance,
Jason
Hello Jason,I would be concerned as well if this was my first time to have t ship anything across country, how as I have been doing this now off and on for about 25 years it all just a drive to me any more,if your trailer is new the hubs and bearings should be fine,as long as this is the right trailer for your vessel, and it should be shipped empty of fuel as this will cur down in over all weight,I have been to the west coast to the east coast,6 times this year already, and please understand me any can happen, but in all the years of doing this I have burnt up 2 wheel bearings 1 on my own trailer, but I check ever thing at each stop, does your trailer have torsion axles?or spring?well any way sure hope this info well ease your mind that your craft would be[in my opinion]in the very best of hands,so please let me know if I may serve you.Thank you very much[windinhair]frank
Frank,
The trailer is brand new, made by Magnum and is their "4200" Tandem Axle Trailer for inboard boats that are 20' to 24' long. GVWR is 4500# with a 4350# carrying capacity. Both axles are 3500# torsion type. Tires are ST215/75R14 (Load C) and there is one set of disc brakes on the back axle. Swing tongue with 2-5/16? straight coupler and 1/4? safety chains w/ safety hooks for connection. Limited fuel on board but some as the boat was lake tested. Do you see any issues with this? Also, what are your thoughts on potential hull chips and chips/road rash on the trailer.
Thank-you in advance,
Jason
Hey Jason, thank you for all the info, torsion axles are the best money can buy this will make the craft ride real real smooth, hardy any bouncing, this should tow very very well, and as for as any hull chips while in transport, this could happen, just like it could happen on a flat bed as well,I do a damage inspection report/BOL,and is signed at pick and then by you at delivery,if we have a cross wind this would be the only difficult part I do carry 1--14in --5lug,spare tire,it should be the same, but I am sure you have thought about buying a spare tire with her?the swing away tongue is so if it dont quite fit in your garage, the tongue will fold so you can close your doors,I have all ball sizes and all kinds of light hook ups,so Jason when will you be ready to ship?will my time frame meet yours?and please let me know if I may be of service to you .Thank you very much for your interest in my service[windinhair]frank
Frank,
Thank-you. I agree, I think the trailer will be fine and it has a spare tire on it. I have quite a few other bids for tow-away service which are all within the $2,300 to $2,400 range. All providers look to be competent and have good resumes. Can I ask why your price is higher.
Thank-you in advance,
Jason
Good morning Jason,I have placed a fair market bid,and as I stated before I am a LEGAL transporter, all of my insurance is filed in Washington DC at DOT,and fuel prices are another factor, the father north or west one goes the higher the price, and also it very HARD to find any loads coming out of Montana, and if you would do the math,I only get a part of the 2570.00,more than likely I will have to run over to Washington to pick up another load, and I have had to go all the way to California to make another pick up,some guys are just out seeing the sites,I bought new tires in Wa about a month ago,4 tires was a little less than a grand,so I sure hope that I have made things clearer, and again I if you will just click on my M/C# or my DOT#[blue]this will bring up what I have on file in Washington DC,and I will be happy to make you a certificate holder on my insurance after that you have accepted my bid,Jason thank you very much[windinhair]frank
Frank,
Thanks. I have to ask the price question as all other bids are no higher than $2400.00 and again there are some reputable service providers bidding. Would you be willing to do it for $2500.00? The boat will be ready for pick-up on May 9th or 10th. Does this fit in for you? How long do you think it would take to get to Sweetgrass? I am wanting to make the exchange on the 14th. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thank-you,
Jason
Thank-you,
Jason
OK Jason I will knock off 70.00 to make it an even 2500,and if you accept my bid then I work for you,the 9th or 10th should not be any trouble, and 4 to 5 days to Sweet Grass,if I could pick up your new craft a day a head of time this would ensure you getting it on the 14th,in all the years of living on the road its always good to have a little extra time than try to push the limits,so please let me know what you think?.Thank you[windinhair]frank

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the repsonse. Can you provide hauling (flate deck) service or only tow away.
Thank-you in advance,
Jason
hello jason i can only do tow away i have towed many boats to sweetgrass and have never had any damage i have a perfect record and im covered up to 100,000 i would like the chance to tow yours as well thanks shawn
Shawn,
Thanks. I have not had to have a boat delivered this kind of distance. My concern is it is a new boat and trailer, I paid a lot of money for, and with the distance between Austin and Sweetgrass (approx 2000mi) the wear & tear would be quite a bit. I am very conerned with rock chips on the hull and chips/road rash on the trailer. As well, the miles put on the tires and hubs are a concern.
Thanks,
Jason
jason i have towed many new and used baots from az to east coast and from there back to here with no damage as long as the hubs are well greased and trailer is new every thing should be ok the problem you will have is finding someone to put it on a trailer for a low bid it costs less to be towed than trailered i feel very good about towing it and was hoping to earn your business i have mud/rock guards on my truck as well i dont do 75 or 80 mph i do around 65 to 70 max to avoid the rock chips also you can shrink wrap the front of the boat to protect it from that as well, i carry a grease gun with me and check hubs every time i stop for fuel... thanks shawn
Shawn,
Thanks. I have quite a few other bids for tow service which are all within the $2,300 to $2,400 range. All providers look to be competent and have good resumes. Can I ask why your price is higher.
Thank-you in advance,

i have made this trip many times in the last 3 weeks and fuel when you get out of tx is closer to 4.00 a gal. and keeps gping up i can do it for 2500.00 all inclusive if that would earn your business. i just had a friend call me to take a atv up there to so i can do yours cheaper please advise. shawn

Shawn,
Thank-you for your bid. Are there any other fees involved? Your insurance indicates $75K for full value protection; how does this work. As well, what coverage value do you have for liability and how does this work?
Thanks again,
Jason
jason, there are no other fees and i have up to 100,000 liability for anything hooked to my truck so your boat is 100% covered if this is ok please accept my bid so i can schedule it
Shawn,
When do you think you can pick-up. The boat will be ready for pick-up around May 9th or 10th. How long do you think it would take to get to Sweetgrass? I was hoping to make the exchange on the 14th or 15th. Let me know.
Thank-you,
Jason
hello jason i can pick up on the 9th or 10th and can drop to you on the 15th no problem please accept so i can plan this and so i can contact you with details thanks shawn/txdalton

Shawn,
Thanks for the update. Please advise what cargo and liability insurance coverage is included. Will you be towing or your son? This boat is a big investment for me so I want to be sure I understand everything involved. Swing tongue with 2-5/16" straight coupler and 1/4" safety chains w/ safety hooks for connection. Also has a spare tire. Limited fuel will be on board but some as the boat was lake tested. Do you see any issues with this? Also, what are your thoughts on potential hull chips and chips/road rash on the trailer.
Thank-you in advance
Jason
hello jason while your boat is hooked to my truck it is covered up to 100,000 as cargo full value protection as for any chips or road rash i do not forsee any because the roads are clear at this time and are going to be clear so far up to the 15th i travel at 60 65 mph as to avoid rock chips the boat will arrive to you the same as it was picked up i do not for see any problems at all i can bring this to you no problems at all please accept so that i can schedule everything thanks shawn/txdalton
Shawn,
Thanks for the response, but what about liability insurance; Do you have this and how much coverage? Will you be towing my boat or your son. As well, do you do an inspection report at time of pick-up and drop-off. Please let me know.
Thank-you,
Jason
100,000 liability insurance I will be delivering not my son and yes I do pre trip inspection and call u with inspection results also can take pics and send to you if needed also will go over and inspect boat with you upon delivery I understand ur concern and can assure you everything will be fully covered and ok lease accept and I will contact you with details thanks shawn/txdalton
