Job Title: Category Manager, Freight (LTL/FTL/Heavy Equipment)
Job Description:
uShip is seeking an exceptional individual to manage our Freight (LTL/FTL/Heavy Equipment) Category. The Freight Category Manager will report to the Director of Marketing and will develop and execute a marketing plan for uShip in this category. This position is based at uShip's corporate headquarters in Austin, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
- Full profit and loss responsibility for the Freight (LTL/FTL/Heavy Equipment) category
- Create, develop and execute a marketing and sales strategy targeting both customers and Transportation Service Providers (TSP’s) in the Freight category
- Research, understand and communicate uShip’s unique value proposition within the category and closely monitor the competitive landscape
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop campaigns utilizing direct marketing (email, mail, phone sales), search/internet marketing, affiliate programs, trade shows, trade publications, and other advertising
- Develop and manage relationships with top customers and TSP’s
- Work closely with the Business Development team to identify partnership prospects and create alliances that drive
- Work with the Product and Development teams to tailor products and features specifically for the Freight (LTL/FTL/Heavy Equipment) category
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working in or with the Freight (LTL/FTL/Heavy Equipment) industry
- 3-5 years of experience as a category manager at an internet or e-commerce company, preferable one with a marketplace model
- Experience utilizing various marketing programs including direct marketing (email, mail, phone sales, etc.), internet marketing, affiliate programs, trade shows, trade publications, collateral, and mass media advertising
- Experience recruiting and working with partners
- Experience researching and analyzing customer behavior and requirements via focus groups, surveys, and web analytics
- Ability to work the entire marketing cycle from customer acquisition to acceleration to retention
- MBA preferred but not required
