As CEO, Matt leads uShip's executive team in the company's mission to create the most efficient marketplace for shipping that has ever existed. The idea for uShip was hatched in 2002 when Matt moved from Seattle to Austin in a half-full rented moving truck and has since grown into a global online transport marketplace. In 2010, Matt was a finalist for Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in Central Texas, and in 2011 earned top honors in the Austin Under40 business and entrepreneur category. Prior to founding uShip, Matt spent five years in business development and engineering roles at The Boeing Company in Seattle, Wash. He helped assess the technical and financial viability of new ventures including broadband in-flight Internet access and a theater ballistic missile defense system. Matt also led the avionics integration effort for the F-22 fighter aircraft and evaluated research proposals for NASA. Matt attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his MBA in May 2004. During business school, while turning the uShip idea into reality, Matt interned for the Austin office of Hunt Ventures where he evaluated new investment proposals. In addition to his MBA, Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Jay Manickam - Co-Founder & Vice President, Strategy and Operations

In Jay's role leading the Strategy team he is responsible for the functions of Finance, Analytics, and Marketplace Research. The Finance function consists of accounting, treasury, and financial modeling and analysis. The Analytics function is involved in pre and post launch product testing and reporting, clickstream analytics, pricing, and segmentation. The Research function is engaged in data mining, surveying, statistical analysis, and algorithmic marketplace efficiency initiatives. Jay is also responsible for the internal operations of uShip, including the CTS (Community, Trust, and Safety) team which provides customer support, as well as Legal and Human Resources. He attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, where he met uShip co-founders Mickey Millsap and Matt Chasen while obtaining his MBA. Before co-founding uShip, Jay worked as a consultant in various roles for Andersen, Deloitte & Touche and Intel. Previously, Jay earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Chemistry and a Masters in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Shawn Bose - Vice President & GM, Global Business

Shawn oversees uShip's Global Expansion from strategy to implementation including identifying and prioritizing opportunities by country, adapting uShip's unique value proposition to fit each market, evaluating businesses in target countries for partnerships or acquisitions, and managing the operations of each global property. The uShip Global Team focuses on increasing the footprint of the uShip platform, tools and ultimately the value that it creates for customers, transportation companies and partners through localization, targeted marketing and support. Shawn began his involvement with the company shortly after the service was launched while getting his MBA at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and joined full time in 2005, leading the Product Team until mid 2010. Prior to uShip Shawn founded the Cambridge Web Design Group and then joined BigBad, Inc. to lead large scale web solutions for clients ranging from Southern New England Telephone to Harvard University. Shawn continued to contribute to the evolution of the web by interning at Pluck Corporation, one of the earliest companies focused on web collaboration through RSS aggregation and blogging tools. In addition to his MBA, Shawn has an A.B. in Religion & Archaeology from Bowdoin College.
