At uShip we’re consistently working to make sure people
hear about our online shipping marketplace-- we want everyone to have a uShip Story. Of course, we
still think uShip doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves.
That’s why we were thrilled to see that social
networking blog Mashable agreed—and named uShip their “Most
Underrated Website.” Within the day, Digg had picked
up on the story and sent it to their front page. The Digg and Mashable
audiences sent uShip a massive amount of traffic and, we hope, went a long way
toward helping uShip shed the “underrated” tag.
As an added bonus, for my entry I won from Mashable a
pass to the Under the Radar: Mobility conference. Hosted at Microsoft’s
Mountain View, California campus, the conference focused on
companies focusing on the mobile industry that have slipped “under the radar.”
A number of exciting products were presented, including a mobile pay
startup that has gained significant traction in Boulder, a service that
allows you to get directions as a text message, and
a company that is looking to transform how you access
information on your mobile phone.
All told the conference was informative and, seeing
what’s on the horizon, one can’t help but to be excited by where we are headed
with mobile phones. Who knows? Maybe one day people will access uShip
primarily through their cell phone. In the meantime, we’re content with being
the most underrated website on your home computer.
